What is Jourhavande Kompis?

Jourhavande kompis is an anonymous chat for children and young people below the age of 25. You can talk to us about anything and everything. Feeling down? Need someone to talk to? We are here to listen to you and to support you! 

We’re not experts, psychologists, or therapists – we’re just young people like you who are volunteering their time to support others. The chat is anonymous. 

When the chat is open, you can choose language and start the chat in the white box below. 

We’re open on Monday-Friday 18:00-21:00 and Saturday-Sunday 14:00-17:00. We stop accepting new chat requests 15 minutes before closing time. 

How anonymous is it? 

The people you are speaking to have all signed confidentiality agreements so we can do the best possible job in helping you. The person you speak to might talk to another person in the Jourhavande kompis team but they will never share anything with people who don’t work or volunteer with Jourhavande kompis. 

The volunteers cannot see your IP address or where you chat from. The chat history is deleted every week. 

At Jourhavande kompis we collect statistics on age, gender, topic of conversation and whether you gave us a thumbs up or down at the end of our chat. The reason for this is to give the volunteers the right kind of training in the issues that are frequently brought up in the chat, so that we can provide the best service for you. But also so that we can show our financiers, decision makers and people in power what young people want to talk about, their health and what they need.  This information cannot be traced back to you or any individual who chats with us. 

Anonymous quotes from the chat might be used for purposes of training volunteers or in other information purposes. The quotes will always be anonymous so that nothing can be traced back to you.
